GGSS, in collaboration with FVTRS (Functional Vocational Training and Research Society) Bangalore is undertaking vocational training for school drop out and unemployed youth in its area of operation since 2012. The major objective is to help school dropout rural tribal boys and girls, rural unemployed youth to enhance their skills to earn their livelihood. Vocational Training for Dropout and Unemployment Youth under Guwahati, Assam is a one year intervention supported by Functional Vocational Training and Research Society (FVTRS), Bangalore. It aims at sustainable skill based livelihood opportunities for school dropout youth. The intervention promotes value based education, motivation and attitudinal change among the youth through value entrepreneurship development. The project also encourages the trainees to get enrolled in open schooling along with the training. It prepares the youth for employment by upgrading their skills by assisting them to start business. Thus it tries to improve the socio-economic status of the school dropout youth. The intervention focuses on upgrading the skills of selected trainees in Garment Making and Embroidery, Food Processing and bakery making, Bag making and Nursing Assistants. It targets a total of 115 school dropout youth out of which 15 male and 100 female. Various trainings are conducted under this programme such as: - Garment making and embroidery works - Food Processing and bakery making - Bag making - Nursing Assistants
